Fall Asleep In Under 1 Minute With This Brain Exercise

Are you one of those people who have struggles falling asleep every night? If the answer is yes, then you should definitely try the following 4-7-8 breathing method. Believe it or not, it’s going to make you fall asleep within 60 seconds. It sounds incredible, isn’t it?

This breathing technique was discovered by Dr. Andrew Weill, an expert at Harvard University. The method consists of breathing to counts of 4, 7, and 8 and allows the oxygen to fill in the lungs in order to soothe the brain.

Some people suffer from insomnia which occurs as a result of eating bad food before going to sleep, or because of stress, or even some screen you have in your own bedroom.

So, what actually this 4, 7 and 8 method is?

Weill Andrew, a wellness expert who studied meditation, stress management, and breathing, discovered this method which is very simple. All you have to do is the following:

Take deep breath through the nose for 4 seconds and hold it for 7 seconds. Then, exhale it for 8 seconds. This technique will slow down the heart rate and produce certain chemicals for calming down the brain.

In case you are kind of skeptic, give it a try. It’s more than sleep training. When you cannot sleep, your heart rate is faster because of the adrenaline production of the endocrine system out of the adrenal glands. In this case, you breathe shallow and fast. But, with this breathing method, you improve your mood and slow down the heart rate.
